Most rear spoilers make their statement with shape. The TECHART Rear Spoiler II for the 992 Carrera makes its statement with transparency. The wing profile and its side plates appear to float above the engine cover, supported by what looks like a single central upright; a visual trick created by the use of Makrolon uprights, a transparent, high-tensile polycarbonate material that reads as nearly invisible in person and in photos. The effect is a rear wing that looks architecturally considered rather than bolted-on; one that reads immediately as a TECHART product rather than a generic aftermarket addition. The aerodynamics here are not just visual. The Rear Spoiler II is a fixed rear wing that replaces the factory’s automatically adjustable rear lid with a purpose-built assembly that generates substantially more rear axle downforce than the stock spoiler system. The redesigned engine cover that comes with it incorporates two air intakes, ensuring the charge-air coolers still receive proper airflow with the factory lid removed. An integrated third brake light is built into the cover, and the kit includes a control unit to prevent error messages from the vehicle’s spoiler position monitoring system.
