Construction wise, the factory mufflers are cleverly engineered out of titanium. SOUL is wary of the durability of titanium in high horsepower, aggressive use applications and the 992.2 Turbo S is capable of delivering immediate, brutal performance with the T-Hybrid system. SOUL prioritizes long-term durability and material integrity and as such our muffler options are crafted from 304 / 316L stainless steel to offer confident durability for enthusiasts and record chasers alike.

The SOUL 992.2 Turbo S valved mufflers are precision-engineered for seamless integration with Porsche’s factory exhaust valve actuator and PSE programming. The factory valves are electronically controlled unlike older “open or closed” vacuum style valves. Able to work variably, the valves will gradually open and close depending on several factors of engine operation. Even under full throttle application in Sport mode the valves will still not stay open 100% of the time.  The SOUL Valved Sport Muffler variable-flow design works in conjunction with the factory electronic valve control, providing a balance of everyday refinement and the exhilarating sound expected from a high-performance Porsche.

Our fleet of 3D metal printers gives us the ability to rapidly craft previously unattainable advanced designs with optimized internal flow paths and internal sound control features. Using detailed 3D scans of the factory exhaust system and the underside of the vehicle, we began exploring new ways to shape and refine the exhaust note. Through extensive rounds of testing and refinement, we developed our Sport Muffler design to balance exhaust flow with effective sound control. Compared to a traditional muffler design, this bespoke SOUL configuration allows for a shorter and larger diameter valves open tract for more flow and sound while mitigating volume with valves closed – all while weight 6 lbs less than the light factory mufflers. With the valves closed, exhaust gases are routed through the secondary flow path and internally baffled dual wall tips to help attenuate exhaust volume while still offering an improvement in tone. As the valves open, flow is progressively redirected through the large-diameter 3″ primary path, bypassing the baffled section to deliver more volume and a more aggressive exhaust note. 

SATISFYING SOUND

• Inside the cabin, the experience is refined and full of turbocharged flat-six character—without reverberation, harshness, buzzing, or booming.

• With the valves closed, exhaust volume is approximately equivalent to that of the factory mufflers with the valves open

• Drone not found with valves closed – converse during cruising with comfort on the highway.

• The exhaust note outside the vehicle is “OEM Plus” with valves open – authoritative but never obnoxious.

Mandrel bent, durable .065″ T304L stainless steel tubing 

Internally baffled double wall tip outlets printed from 316L stainless steel by SOUL’s fleet of 3D metal printers

Water jet cut brackets are made to ISO 9001:2015 standards with ultra-tight tolerances of +/- 0.003 inches for extreme precision

Back purged TIG welding (with ARCAL™ Prime argon gas) ensures proper weld penetration for exceptional strength and longevity

Fabricated using thick-gauge aluminum fixtures that act as a heat sink during the welding process to prevent any warpage
