RDR FALL 2026 | Turning Up the Volume in the Smoky Mountains
As the year winds down, the SOUL team looks forward to returning to the Smoky Mountains and taking on some of the best driving roads in the country. We make it a priority to return with our latest development vehicles and support the enthusiasts who make this event a sellout year after year.
Our objective for Fall Rennsport Dragon Rally 2026? Bringing on-site performance installations directly to the rally. It was an ambitious undertaking, especially with just one technician and limited equipment, several miles from the nearest parts store. Fortunately, we had the right person for the job. Hansell, a Porsche Master Technician and longtime friend of SOUL, was ready to take on the challenge with little more than a set of QuickJacks and his expertise.
The installation booth became an instant hotspot as soon as rally groups returned from their daily runs. Once the engines cooled down, the cars went up and the exhausts went on. We kept busy installing 718 over-axle pipes and 992.1/.2 Sport Catalytic Converters, pairing each setup with on-site tuning from our friends at M-Engineering. The result was a complete transformation in performance and sound. Customer reactions after their first drives said it all—there’s nothing quite like experiencing a freshly upgraded Porsche on some of the best roads in the Southeast.
One unexpected highlight was discovering a 718 GT4 Clubsport tackling the mountain roads with Group 2. After connecting with its owner, we had the opportunity to take the car for a spin and discovered an interesting detail: despite its factory race-car pedigree, it was still running catted over-axle pipes, just like its street-going counterpart. We quickly got to work replacing them, allowing the flat-six to finally breathe and sing through the mountains with the sound you’d expect from a proper race car for the remainder of the weekend.
Rennsport Dragon Rally is the ultimate gathering for Porsche enthusiasts, bringing together vendors, owners, and drivers to experience these cars the way they were meant to be driven.
