Description

DEVELOPMENT:  The M5 is quite refined with generous sound deadening and heavy muffling in the exhaust, muting the 4.4L’s intoxicating symphony – but we have a solution. Evaluation of the factory midpipes reveals a very high flowing and relatively smooth flowing design. BMW incorporated a factory break point for upgraded exhausts and the rear section is what holds the exhaust back. The Soul Resonated Muffler Bypass Exhaust forgoes the factory mufflers for a clamp on, 3″ straight pipe design with the addition of race resonators to minimize drone. The straight through design of our race resonators encourages maximum power and sound under heavy throttle while cutting down on harsh frequencies that can make their way into the cabin and cause droning on partial throttle and during cruising conditions. This is the ideal solution to pair with aftermarket downpipes to prevent drone and raspiness. The Y pipe setup exiting out through quad tips encourages equal exhaust distribution and tip adjustability to allow for either a flush or staggered appearance in the bumper. Turn up the aggression but not the drone with SOUL.

CONSTRUCTION:  Each set of muffler bypass pipes is made from mandrel bent T304L 3″ .065″ wall stainless steel tubing, straight through race resonators with a full metal packing design for maximum durability, and laser cut brackets for perfect fitment. Choose from several hand finished tip options to get the look that suits your M5 best. New for 2020, the cast Y section yields superior interior flow with a smooth wall interior path and knife edged split.

POWER:  Our development car reached peak power of 610 whp and 615 ft-lbs of torque during third party dyno testing at R/T Tuning. Mods included catless downpipes, custom tune, and our Resonated Muffler Bypass Exhaust.

BOLT ON AND GO:  Each exhaust is tested in a fixture to ensure perfect fitment. Installation requires cutting the original exhaust at a factory break point (marked with a dimple) which allows for reinstallation of the factory system if necessary. Thorough installation instructions are included in the box for a straightforward install that can be performed by most DIY enthusiasts.

LIFETIME WARRANTY:  Enjoy your SOUL exhaust components with confidence on both the street and track as they are covered by our Lifetime Warranty! Our team will quickly work with you to resolve any issues or answer any questions that you may have.

I’m pleasantly surprised that I’m liking the sound of your exhaust more as it ages. I’m past my loud exhaust days, but the tone seems nicer to me now. Perhaps I’m just used to it, but I’m certainly happy with it.

SICK exhaust for the m5! Can’t beat the price! The sound is amazing and NO DRONE! Don’t spend excessive $$ on these other over priced exhausts. The SOUL resonated exhaust for the f10 is perfect!

I had this kit installed over the summer by Speed Sport Tuning in Danbury, CT. Great guys over there and the exhaust is very nice! Great build quality, perfect tip alignment. I went with straight cut brushed and it looks great.

I found Soul on the Bimmer board. The reason why I chose Soul was because of the content of the website. It answered every question and concern that I had, and I tested it by showing up with no appointment expecting a system to be ready to go and installed and sure enough it was. My expectations were exceeded!

The system is insane, it is more then what I thought I was getting and wanting. The look and sound is so strong, but the car is driving better no doubt. It’s breathing better, shifts are quicker, and the overall drivability is smoother no doubt!

Soul gets it, meet the needs of the customer by listening and being fully transparent about who they are and how they do business. Most professional group of people I have ever met at a place of business, team effort for sure no attitude at all. Cleanest shop in the market not one item out of place or any dirt on the floors in the entire shop. Bottom line is give Soul a try, bet you go with them!

Started the car up yesterday in a parking lot and an older guy started laughing and smiling. Rolled down my window and he came up to say that the car just sounds incredible.. it was a cold start so a little obnoxious, but he was smiles ear to ear.

Couldn’t be more pleased with the Soul System on mine. Got to open it up yesterday and today and really enjoyed driving the car especially now that I have the ASD turned off. No drone and it is relatively tame until you put your foot down. Thanks Mike for all the information and follow up.

Ive had my soul muffler bypass for about 6 months.
    -Love it.

Also gotta give a big shoutout and thanks to @soulperformanceproducts for sending me 2 new tip clamps completely free of charge months later as my installer stripped threads in one and i didnt know until much later. I just called, told them what happened, they asked my name, and they were like “youre all good man” and i had 2 new clamps in 2 days.
very nice clamps, too.. would def cost me $40 if not $80 for a pair, so thanks!

    – I went catless about 3 months ago via meisterschaft and now its just nuts

So loud when cold or on the throttle, but civilized otherwise.. i definitely carry on conversations while cruising.

no need for an annoying burble/ak47 tune

spool up to 2500-2700rpm in any gear, and left off the gas and it sounds like a dragon belching fire, no other way to explain it really

nobody wonders if its a real M

I’m about a month into owning my 2014 M5. So far, so good!

First up was exhaust. Given how cheap it was, I figured I’d try a muffler delete first. The volume increase was pretty damn good, but, the drone was definitely more than I wanted from an M5. Don’t get me wrong… I’ve had a few cammed v8’s with longtubes and practically no muffler at all, but those are loud sounds…to me, it’s totally different than the depth of the drone I found on decel with this muffler delete.

Within one day of having the muffler delete, I called up Soul Performance, explained exactly what I wasn’t happy with, and they assured me It’d negate almost all of the sound I didnt like. I ordered it on the spot. A few weeks later I got a box on my doorstop…YES!!!

The fit and finish of the system is awesome, and frankly, it’s one of the few exhaust systems I could buy without feeling like I was getting bent over. Sure enough, what Soul told me was spot on – the drone I hated was 90-95% gone, and I’m totally thrilled! I definitely recommend this set up!

It wasn’t long afterwards I threw on a Bootmod3 tune, mainly so I could get rid of the high rev start up. I’d be lying if I said the extra power, and whine, wasn’t also an excellent side effect.

So installed in my garage. I didn’t video or photo the job.

I did it without jacking up the car. I just drove up on some wood planks 1.5 inches thick. It wasn’t enough so i jacked each side up and placed 2×4’s under each as well so about 3 inch left and I was able to complete the job laying on my back.

Step one is unbolt grounding straps.
    Then start cutting.

At first the dimples in the factory exhaust were not as noticeable as I thought they would be but once found a Sawzaw made pretty quick work of the exhaust piping.

From there spray the hangers with WD40 let it sit a min.
Pull the mufflers off and disconnect the vacuum tubing.

Install of the SOUL system was easy the whole thing took me about 2 hours.
The hardest part is figuring out which depth I wanted the tips at. I would say I spent about an hour or so just messing with different set ups.

The Soul Exhaust sounds good. Deep but not like an American muscle car. When you are just cruising around it isn’t annoyingly loud. When you get on the gas though she really screams.

The workmanship on the system is great. Welds are super clean fit and finish is perfect.

I posted in another thread but might as well do it here. I don’t have the competition package, no mods expect a Carbahn tune. The muffler delete system sounds great. It’s what I imagined an m5 to sound like. There was a small issue with the install, the passenger side when installed was pulling to the edge way too much and I had a shop do minor adjustments. Honestly wasn’t the end of the world because the car sounds exactly how I wanted it to. Every person that had heard the car before the muffler delete has noticed the new mod and complimented how great it sounds. Not too overpowering with a toddler in the back seat. Very happy with this purchase and recommend it to anyone on the fence.
