Description
DEVELOPMENT: Following the success of our Valved Exhaust and its ability to fight drone, we wanted to offer a lighter, valveless version that offers an invigorating exhaust note (just like valves open mode on our Valved Exhaust) at all times with the least amount of undesirable elements like droning and rasp. This system is perfect for those who crave an aggressive sound to pair with aftermarket headers and not have it be overbearingly loud. The volume level is delightfully greater than that of PSE (Porsche Sport Exhaust) with valves open while retaining a refined exhaust note. This system is also beneficial for track cars looking for maximum flow in an exhaust but must mind decibel readings. The mufflers are incredibly effective at minimizing drone and encourage a fuller, more robust tone befitting of a Porsche.
CONSTRUCTION: Each system is made from mandrel bent T304L stainless steel tubing (featuring 2.5″ OD over axle pipes) and features mufflers with fortified casings in the interest of durability. The SOUL mufflers are packed with high quality sound deadening material designed to withstand abuse and not blow out over time. Choose from a variety of 321 stainless exhaust tips in different styles and finishes – or contact us to customize your own set! Titanium single wall tips are also available and save nearly a pound of weight over stainless steel tips!
BOLT ON AND GO: Each exhaust is rigorously quality-checked, tested in a fixture to guarantee fitment, and then foam packed to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. Thorough installation instructions are included in the box for a straightforward install that can be performed by most DIY enthusiasts.
LIFETIME WARRANTY: Enjoy your SOUL exhaust components with confidence on both the street and track as they are covered by our Lifetime Warranty! Our team will quickly work with you to resolve any issues or answer any questions that you may have.

Installed the Soul Performance 981 Performance (so non-valved) exhaust last week – so – now it has about – week on it figured I would do a review. I’m a 2013 981 Base with 6MT and Sport Chrono – and the car has 11k miles on it.
Install: The exhaust itself was a breeze, once I got to the actual installation. However, the removal of the original was a bastard. Amazing the corrosion on a car with only 11k miles on it. And – the studs are pressed into the header flanges, and had to be removed for the install. Heated the studs with a butane torch for 5 mins (each), and they came out with a few whacks. Also, the exhaust bracket clamps needed replacing (cheap part), but no one had them so that put a damper on the install. Ended up using some hose clamps temporarily until the new clamps came from Suncoast. Once the prep work was done, I had the new exhaust on in less than an hour.
Fit and Finish: Amazing. The stainless matte finish that Soul uses is gorgeous. Love the texture and matte finish – and it handles prints, etc well also. The fit of the exhaust was top notch – oem quality overall how well it went right on.
Sound – Can I get a ‘Hell Yes!” Sounds unreal. I opted not to go for the valves, well, why? To me I don’t have PSE currently, and it doesn’t integrate, so why have an extra button? And – why not sound like a sports car all of the time, was my thought process.
The sound on cold start and acceleration are out of this world, and make that flat 6 sound like it ought to. Minimal drone for what the exhaust is (yes, there is some, but it is not excessive at all).
And – call me crazy – but in Sport Plus – it absolutely snaps-crackles-and pops more than it does in ‘normal’ mode. Not sure if that is because the engine maps differently in Sport plus and Sport as opposed to normal (can anyone confirm?) – but – it DEFINITELY makes a difference. It is definitely not in my head that Sport Plus changes the dynamic of the exhaust, even though no PSE.
Overall, great product.

Last week we just installed a Soul non-valved exhaust on my 2016 Cayman. . My car was bought new by me in So Cal and doesn’t have many miles and no rust so everything came off no problem. Watching you deal with those rusty bolts and nuts sure did not look like fun, but good on you for getting through that part. I like the fit and finish on the Soul exhaust as mine went on in no time with the car up on a lift. The pops, bangs and burbles from both on and off the throttle being the best part of the whole thing to me. I also like the slightly smaller size and a little less weight. After the install I wiped everything down with WD 40 and will have to check my pipes to see what they look like now after the first run in.

Got the Soul exhaust on and WOW! The sound is AMAZING! I’ve no other Porsche to compare it to but this is nothing like any other exhaust note around these parts. Deeper than I thought it would be and not too loud except when I’m really on the go peddle. It sorta reminds me of the old Honda CBX six cylinder motorcycle, it has a unique note only a six can make and it’s nice to have something different out there on the street from everyone else. Quality is great! Seems it has a tad better throttle response and with the K&N filters I’m sure it breathes better than OEM and makes a little more power. Drone is very minimal to nonexistent at constant speed, just a little bit louder but not obtrusive. This is a perfect blend of aggressive sound without being obnoxious. This to me is a must do mod as it changes the character of the car and I love driving in manual mode now to hear it wind up a bit. A word of caution though, fitment of the x-pipe is really very tight and very difficult for dyi. I weighed the new and stock pieces and the Soul is 4.25 lbs lighter. The tubes are a really heavy gauge – thick stainless steel so the life time warranty is not going to be needed unless you drive in really bad conditions quite a bit, which will never be a problem for me in the sunny South. Kudos to the folks at Soul Performance as this is a tremendous value at this price point or even more to be honest. I got them directly from Soul and saved several hundred bucks vs a retailer. I made one call and they were super friendly, efficient and helpful. I was put on the back order list but they came on time as promised. Couldn’t be more pleased!

I have the Soul Performance Exhaust (Non-Valved) and it is absolutely the best thing I have ever done to any car I have owned. The flat six symphony is so amazing to experience. I can’t keep my foot from pushing the car into the 4k-5k rev range where it absolutely sings. I feel, hear, and experience every blip and bang from the PDK on upshifts and downshifts. I pretty much leave it in Sport+ mode to wring it out. I have a ’13 Boxster S so I rarely have the top up. I did drive it once with the top up and the in-cabin sound was very livable. Thank you Gaydos for spending time answering all my questions and for geeking out with me about our Porsches. Feel free to reach out if any of you have questions about this particular version or about the install.
