These unique 986 Boxster muffler bypass conversion pipes easily bolt into factory exhaust for an OEM sound with valves closed and a race–inspired sound with valves open. The default valve orientation upon startup is valves closed for a refined warm-up experience and an invigorating tone reminiscent of air-cooled CUP cars is just a button press away!

Description

DEVELOPMENT:  We wanted to design a cost effective valved exhaust that would offer offer the ability to go from “Cruising Sunday to Track Day” at the press of a button with the default setting to be valves closed for a more refined startup experience – no shaking the garage or waking up the neighbors. Minimizing drone was also a priority. Porsche implemented a section of piping in the exhaust that can easily be unbolted and replaced – a perfect location to incorporate valved Muffler Bypass tubes!

SOUND:  Don’t worry about starting up your Boxster in your garage – valves are closed by default! The OEM-driving Porsche characteristics and exhaust note are retained until you open the valves, and when you do, you’ll be treated to an aggressive bark as the mufflers are bypassed. Exhaust gases are routed out through dump tubes with valves open to give a flat–six roar.

CONSTRUCTION:  Each set is made in house by our fabrication team utilizing brand new OEM Porsche muffler piping and application specific valves with a closed mode by default.

BOLT ON AND GO:  Each exhaust is built and tested in a thick gauge aluminum fixture (which prevents warping) to ensure perfect fitment and then foam packed to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.. Every set and valve controller kit is rigorously quality-checked prior to shipping.

    Several hundred miles on these bypass pipes now, on my 986S.
    Clean fitment and install by the SPP crew, and the pipes look very well made.
    Sound with bypass valves open is exactly as you would expect, sounds great at WOT.
    Definitely some drone at cruising revs 2k-3k, as expected with a muffler bypass, but with a push of a button, you are back to quiet cruising.
    An unexpected perk: with valves closed, sound is very close to stock, but a hint raspier/throatier, which is exactly what it should’ve sounded like stock!
    Valve open/close control fob has worked flawlessly so far.
    Very happy with these bypass pipes and the service at their facility.
