Description

DEVELOPMENT & SOUND:  The factory header design is a very simple, mass produced component not suited for performance. By creating a unique application for the 991.1 platform, we’ve focused on sizing the runners (2”) correctly to extract maximum power from the 3.8L engine while producing great gains from the 3.4L as well.

POWER:  Verified independent dyno testing at Apex Autowerks on a Mustang dyno revealed real, repeatable peak gains of 9 whp and 13 ft-lbs of torque with a noticeable improvement in the mid RPM range, well over 25 whp and ft-lbs of torque at 3,000 RPM for a boost where you’ll be at most during normal driving. Even greater power can be realized with an ECU tune, especially after 5,000 RPM where adjusting timing would make a significant difference.

CONSTRUCTION:  Each 991.1 header set is assembled out of T304L stainless steel. Merge spikes are incorporated to smooth exhaust flow into the collector and increase power. Thick water jet cut flanges cut to ISO 9001:2015 standards ensure perfect fitment and product longevity. Each exhaust is tested in a fixture to guarantee fitment and then foam packed to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.

HJS CATALYSTS:  The highest quality catalytic converters available, known for their industry leading flow and durability. They are efficient enough to meet strict EURO 4 emission standards while still allowing for an increase in flow – all without a check engine light. The HD design uses premium triple foil winding for maximum strength. The brazing stripe is an extra feature in the interest of durability – it prevents the core from moving or experiencing any damage from sustained high horsepower abuse. We use a large and appropriately sized catalyst to allow for maximum gains – no compromises here!

BOLT ON AND GO:  Each set of catted headers is built and tested in a thick gauge aluminum fixture (which prevents warping) to ensure perfect fitment then foam packed to arrive in perfect condition. New high grade hardware is included for the header to exhaust flange. Thorough installation instructions are included in the box for a straightforward install that can be performed by most DIY enthusiasts.

LIFETIME WARRANTY:  Enjoy your SOUL exhaust components with confidence on both the street and track as they are covered by our Lifetime Warranty! Our team will quickly work with you to resolve any questions or issues that you may have.

First off, dealing with Soul performance has been amazing. From the first email to the headers driving at my door. It’s very refreshing to deal with company who respond to emails and questions so quickly with no issues. Thx Soul!! Ok onto the install. I already removed my stock headers. Its literally a forty minute job taking my time. After unboxing, I examined the new headers, and was blown away with the quality of the design and welds. Truly a piece of art! I weighed both the stock and new headers, the SOUL ones were a little bit heavier. Not by much. Install was super easy. The toughest part was installing one header bolts on each side at the top between the header tubes. I modified my Torx socket to make it easier to get behind. Install time was about and hr, taking my time and making sure everything was torqued and clean. I did this in my garage with jack stands. For the record I’m no mechanic.. Now the best part. So after I warmed up the GTS, i went for a quick drive as it was late. Driving in normal mode the car was super quiet without and drone. Noticed it pulled harder around 3500rpm and up. Sports plus mode and exhaust valves open, The car is now a beast.. haha it farts and pops on downshift like a race car.. it pulls super hard from 3500 amp and up. PDK shifting from 2nd into 3rd is insane.. before it was good, but now its unbelievable. Still zero drone and amazing sound. This is by far the best thing I could have done to my GTS. I didn’t have much time that night, but I stopped and did a little vid of some revs with and with out valves open. Now after about 100 KM, the sound is now even better, and the pops are unbelievable. Me and my buddy who has a new M2 with a full Kline exhaust went for a drive. He said the sound behind my car was like a tuned car car hahaha. Just awesome. So there you have it. I’m truly impressed and SOULS Long tube headers. I do not have dyno #S, I do not have experience with any other companies headers. So I can’t compare or comment. Install was simple and I’m super happy with the results. I will attach some pics and video. Cheers

Just installed the SOUL PERFORMANCE Long Tube Headers… All I can say it WOW. Car is completely stock besides this. In sports plus and PSE on… the car sound insane, Pure heaven… Pulls way harder from 3500 rmp and up. The headers are by far the best I have used !!

Working with the SOUL family was an experience nothing short of amazing and just fun. I had the Long Tube Headers with HiFlow cats installed on my 991.1 S, and without tune, the car noticeably pulls harder, but more interestingly, the increase in TQ down low and mid range is noticable and the car pulls harder throughout the entire RPM range. The sound is perfection. It add a slightly louder volume, and a lower tone, but when you open it up, it’s all race care, but not over bearing at all. I went with this option, because I did not want to replace my PSE, or get something too loud. This was the best compromise, and provides the best power gains. Adding a tune will yield more power throughout and smooth out the power delivery. I am sold on the fact that SOUL provides quality and effective products, don’t hesitate to go with them.

I installed a set of the Soul headers (long-tube) last week. I was at the track all weekend with them, and can say the sound is incredible. It’s a lot louder at mid-high rpms (more like the howling sound I associate with the GT3 exhaust) but not obnoxious. It also pops a lot more on downshift. I also believe it pulls harder, but at a new track, couldn’t really get a compare against prior speeds however I seemed to keep up with the higher powered cars ok. Extremely happy with the purchase, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone.

A beautiful 991 Carrera GTS came in yesterday for a Soul Performance header installation. The quality and workmanship of these manifolds are simply stunning!

Soul cats and headers do increase volume and have more louder pops and cracks you hear for sure.

At idle the car is noticeable deeper and has a little bit of a grumble vs stock. What you notice is that this is apparent with or without PSE activated. The big difference and where you hear it most would be after 3,500 rpm. Due to more air and less restrictions you can hear the Porsche engine wake up and “wail” more.

The performance aspect is the definitely where you get your money’s worth!!! Crazy – but you really feel the increase and mostly the urgency of the car has picked up greatly below 60mph. I came from a GT350r and what I missed the most was the torque and bottom end power. I gained some of this back but the best comparison is you feel a little bit of slingshot affect now – love this this the most!

There has been a few times that I wished for more aggressive sound and volume but then other times I am super happy that it’s not louder than what it already is. I might still go with the exhaust so get the whole experience but waiting to let this settle in some to make that call. It’s gotten a little more robust in sound and louder over the last few days as I suspect the cats are getting acclimated to my style of driving and packing in tightly so that’s a plus!

    Overall:
    1. Performance is a 10 out 10
    2. Sound volume is a 6 out of 10
    3. Sound quality is a 10
    4. Quality of product is a 10
    5. Customer service and John is a 11 (13 if I get an exhaust for 1/2 off j/k!)

Anyone on the fence and worried about being too loud but needs some increase to the factory set up – this is it for sure! No drone, big difference in seat of the pants power and performance while not pissing off the wife and neighbors.

I’ve had the long tube headers with cats for a couple of months now and I thinks it works really well with the stock PSE. I feel a little more grunt above 3K. If you can only replace one thing at a time (headers or exhaust), I highly recommend replacing the headers first.

I have Soul long tube headers on my 2014 Carrera S, Porsche factory PSE, and a custom tune. I am glad to report accurately that I have made more horsepower (based on manufacturer specs and multiple dyno runs. first run resulted in around 350 HP), have removed restrictions (no cats), increased the volume of air…but have not…HAVE NOT experienced any amount of drone or any other undesirable affects. If memory serves me I put down about a final 367 HP to the wheels…Unfortunately I did not do any runs prior to the mods, but my research showed somewhere in the 10-20 HP is average gain on the N/A motor with these mods…closer to 20.
So, I have my cake and am eating it too…

Installed Soul Headers and had to take a break, wash up before I could take it out for a ride

    Initial impressions:

    Sound:
With Valves closed- To my strained ears, even with the sunroof open, they sound no louder than OEM when exhaust valves are closed off, although the car has a different tone (a growl)
With Valves open: the car is marginally loud below 2500 RPM, and has a Growl when blipping throttle. After 2500 things change drastically, car sounds Amazing. I am besides myself
Drone: There is More drone with valves open when cruising at 60 MPH, please note that in my opinion OEM Sport exhaust ALSO DRONES, the Drone is just very slightly louder.

    Power:
    – Butt dyno confirms what I expected, Very noticeable Torque increase, especially between 2500-5500, I made several passes in 2nd and 3rd gear giving it full beans around 2500 and no question the car is much torquer, (by N/A standards)

All in all, this upgrade is a no brainer and something I should have done a long time ago
