DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING:  By creating a unique application for the 981 platform, we’ve focused on sizing the runners (2”) and collectors correctly to extract maximum power from the 3.8L engine. Third party dyno testing on a Dyno Dynamics dynamometer revealed gains of 40 whp when paired with a tune, with 20 whp gains unlocked by Competition Headers alone after the tune had been applied.

CONSTRUCTION:  Each header is assembled out of T304L stainless steel and rigorously quality checked in-house. Proven design elements including port matched flanges, smooth radius primary tubing, and collectors that optimize the exhaust flow all work in conjunction to maximize power gains.

BOLT ON AND GO:  Each header is tested in a fixture to ensure perfect fitment and then foam packed to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. Thorough installation instructions are included in the box for a straightforward install that can be performed by most DIY enthusiasts.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT?:  This product may trigger a check engine light due to removal of factory catalytic converters. O2 Spacers are available to reduce any chances of triggering a CEL. We suggest a custom ECU tune to disable any check engine lights (for track use only).

    John – just wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you that I am love love loving the headers! I have only had the chance to drive the car a couple of times since the install (crappy weather here and lots of travelling for work), but they are incredible! The sound is intoxicating, and the butt dyno feels like the torque dip is gone. It feels like the car revs up faster. I am in love with the car again!

    I looked over the shoulder of the guy installing them. They looked great and went on without a problem. I knew as soon as the engine turned over that I was going to love the sound. The idle is more guttural though not loud, and even up to 6k it is not terribly raucous. After that, however, all bets are off. I did the mod for performance rather than sound, and, if anything, I was even more pleased with the result here. The original Softronic flash gave it noticeably more grunt down low, but with the headers we are talking about that incredible feel of being pushed back into your seat. Not neck-popping, mind you, but definitely pronounced enough to bring a grin, no matter how hard you might try to suppress it. This is all butt-dyno, to be sure, but my butt sensor is acute and one of my few strengths as a driver. It will be early April before I hit the track, and, regardless of popular demand, I will offer another update then. Having sung The praises of Scott at Softronic repeatedly, let me add that John Gaydos at Soul was enormously helpful, even knowing that I would be purchasing the headers from Scott. All of this is to say that, so far, so good in both the technological and human aspect. Hope anyone who is planning to do this is as happy with their decision as I am with mine right now.
