Description
DEVELOPMENT: We sought out to maximize performance and boost response while minding clearance on daily driven cars. Our optimized 3 into 1 merge collector design improves response over the poor factory design, while our runners ultimately increase exhaust velocity into the collector and turbo. Looking into the factory headers you will notice a support in the middle runner which is detrimental to a smooth flow path out of that exhaust port – all in all the design is very basic with lots of room for improvement. The factory turbo inlet measures around 1.54” ID and we sized our header outlet to 1.63” for a smooth flow path into the turbo. The internal volume of the header combined with the resulting design improvements pairs well with the efficiency map of the turbo giving you noticeably quicker boost response and more power throughout the RPM range. Pushing the gas pedal down commands faster feedback from the car and each gear has more usable power before a downshift.
The factory header utilizes a double wall design while our design is single wall yielding in a more pleasing, sharper edge to the exhaust and increased turbo sound. Exhaust volume and tone quality are delightfully increased without yielding drone or undesirable qualities. Expect more burbles and sharper pops between shifts and on deceleration.
POWER: Below are the real, unedited, straight from the Mustang dyno results as conducted by Apex Autoworks with before and after runs on a Base model Carrera already equipped with SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters and SOUL Performance Exhaust with COBB Accessport Stage 2 Map. This dyno chart is made of the average performing charts of 3 before and 6 after runs. Max power gains of 12 whp and 20 ft-lbs come in quickly and hold until redline for a noticeable increase in driving performance. A custom Pro Tune would further take advantage of the increased flow and unlock greater gains.
CONSTRUCTION: Each set is assembled in house in the USA out of laser cut flanges and mandrel bent, thick wall .065″” T304L stainless steel. Back purged TIG welding (with ARCAL™ Prime argon gas) ensures proper weld penetration and longevity. We fabricate these headers using thick gauge aluminum fixtures which act as a great heat sink during the welding process and prevent warping not only of our products, but the fixtures themselves to ensure perfect fitment.
BOLT ON AND GO: Every component is rigorously quality-checked, tested in a fixture to guarantee fitment, and then foam packed to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. New high grade hardware and OEM Porsche gaskets are included for installation.
LIFETIME WARRANTY: Enjoy your SOUL exhaust components with confidence on both the street and track as they are covered by our Lifetime Warranty! Our team will quickly work with you to resolve any issues or answer any questions that you may have.

I just picked the car up. SUPER happy with the results. I was able to take it through all phases of listening to the exhaust from non-sport, sport and sport+ and windows up/down and sunroof flipped.
1. Non-sport with the windows up sounds just like stock, maybe a little more noise when you get on it. I tried to emulate the scenario of the family being in the car and holding a conversation. No problem at all = perfect.
2. Sport windows up or down – holy crap crackles and pops! I thought there were a lot before. It is super aggressive and they are LOUD! It pops loud between shifts even. If this is what you’re looking for, you will not be disappointed.
3. Sport+ windows up gives you a very nice sound that fills the cabin. Makes the car feel more special as it adds to the theater of driving a great car. Windows down – more of the same. You can really hear the car nicely and the decel sounds so great and crisp.
4. Sunroof tilted up – Allows you to hear the turbo spool up a bit more than with the stock exhaust. I like driving around with the sunroof tilted like this. Gives you a bit more sound inside and not too much wind noise like the window completely open.
5. Windows down half-way – both in sport and sport+ allows you to hear what’s going on outside the car without all the wind noise. You can really tell the car is much louder outside than what you hear inside. The pops in sport mode are very loud.
At WOT, the sound is perfect. It’s exactly what I’m looking for. LOVE IT!!!

Just got Soul headers installed on my 991.2 C2S with PSE! I’ll post a longer review shortly with some sound clips, but here are my initial impressions. I have stock cats still, but the car has 21k miles on it, so the cats are worn in.
Fitment/quality: both are top-notch. The installer had no trouble other than the one bolt on the driver’s side (nothing to do with the headers), and they fit perfectly. The finish is beautiful and the welds looks perfect.
Sound: right off the bat I would say there is a 10-20% increase in volume at various peaks of the RPM range under lighter loud, and a noticeable increase in volume under full throttle. The sound isn’t just louder though – the tone is much cleaner, more classic flat 6, with a nice growl at lower RPM and a great howl at higher RPM. I would say the volume and tone are right where I want them now, with that muddled stock sound gone and a much crisper, more refined sound. I always felt the need to put it in Sport mode previously to keep things interesting, but now I’m fairly content in normal mode. There is a nice little sound now (a little burp, but not in a bad way) when upshifting, and downshifts are more noticeable in normal (and thus the pops and bangs of sport aren’t as necessary). There is some additional turbo noise but it’s not major. Sport cats probably make the biggest difference there.
Power/power delivery: I assume the ECU needs some time to adapt (perhaps not, not sure), but the main difference I felt is in response. It’s noticeably improved. Power is likely improved across the board but I can’t say I noticed anything significant (nor would I expect to).

I just installed the Soul headers on my 2017 Base with PDK and Softronic tune. I do not have PSE and have stock cats. I was skeptical of the value of the headers because others said it did not increase power. The trouble to install did not seem worth the gain but I had the headers so I installed them yesterday. As far as the install it was pretty easy except for the infamous driver’s s side stud. Removal of the drivers cat heat shield was easy if you just remove the wheel and inner fender panel. I also loosened the hose going from the turbo to the intercooler and it make access to the buried heat shield screw easy. Passenger header install took a 1 1/2 hours to do. The drivers about 4 hours. I had to thin down a 12mm wrench to double nut the trouble stud. Use plenty of PB Blaster on the studs overnight and once they break loose, they spin right out.
The sound of the exhaust really didn’t change much if any. I had Softronic turn off the pops of the exhaust in Sport mode so don’t know if these would be more pronounced with headers.. The boost comes on much quicker In Sport and Sport+ mode. With l/2 throttle I can beg the boost gauge at 15 where before I need almost full throttle. In auto mode, the PDK seems to kick down to a lower gear faster. So over all I am happy and impressed with the improvements. I think that the change in boost spool up speed is not something that would show up on a dyno but you will really feel it when driving. So I don’t think the dyno really tells the full story of how headers improve the performance.

I have a 2017 C4S with soul headers, cats and a sharkwerks exhaust with a BMC filter. The headers were installed last but really opened the car up and let the other mods shine.

Just installed Soul headers and sport cats. WHAT AN AMAZING DIFFERENCE!! I came from an NA V8 AMG and absolutely missed the guttural exhaust every time I put my foot down in the 911. Over the first few months I’ve owned the 911, I grew to love everything about the car but the sound was still short of what I wanted. Now with the headers and sport cats, I can truly say it is the absolutely the perfect car for me. The sound now reflects the price tag too
